Can you tell us how you ended up in your current role?
It was a life long ambition which was obtained by gaining much experience along the way with training and safety high on the priority list.

How long have you been in your current role?
Since 2008.

What does your job involve?
Transporting fuel to remote Ergon Energy sites throughout north and western Queensland.

What role has training and up-skilling played in you getting your current job?
It has increased my knowledge in relation to safety, policy and procedures, time management, fatigue management, and punctuality of deliveries. I have increased confidence and have a greater understanding of all administration requirements and legalities of diary entries and correct information being documented.

What do you love about your job?
The sites I deliver to, liaising with customers, my love of machinery, accepting responsibility for all aspects of the job.

What attributes do you think best suit this type of work?
Patience and independent thinking also due diligence and care to ensure a safe and successful outcome for each trip taken and a passion to excel.

What advice would you give someone looking to work in the industry?
You need to be enthusiastic about all aspects of the trucking industry.  Positive attitude, be mechanically minded, and enjoy a healthy life style.
