Training Provider

Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) are providers and assessors of nationally recognised training. An RTO can be a TAFE, a private training provider, a government department or a private enterprise. Universities, schools and workplaces are also often RTOs.

Training.gov.au allows you to search for RTOs and also provides the contact details of RTOs who are approved to deliver particular qualifications.

The My Skills website is an Australian Government initiative and a place where you can search for a training organisation or a qualification, find financial assistance and access additional career links and useful training information.

It is suggested that you find two or three RTOs in your area that provide the qualification you are looking for and compare the services they provide. If you cannot find an RTO in your area many provide online or distance learning options. The Federal Government has developed a checklist of questions which may be helpful when talking to the RTOs.
