Aviation Training Package Update

Aviation Update

Aviation training package will be in full throttle throughout the coming months. The two current aviation projects, Air Traffic Control and Pilot in Command are progressing well.

The Air traffic Control project steering committee will meet on 13 August to finalise the revised qualifications and units of competency prior to submission for inclusion into AVI08 Aviation Training Package.

The Pilot in Command project Technical Advisory Group (TAG) workshop will be held on 7-8 August 2014 in Melbourne to review the associated units of competency.

A range of new projects will be implemented in the coming months. The projects will focus on the following areas:

  • Ground Operations
  • Cabin Crew
  • Commercial Pilot (Fixed Wing)
  • AVI40108 Certificate IV in Aviation (Commercial Pilot Aeroplane Licence) and AVI50408 Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Flight Operations) will be reviewed
  • Rotary Wing

The impending release of CASA’s revised Flight Crew Licencing requirements in September 2014 will initiate a broad review of all helicopter flight related qualifications and skill sets.

Further information on each of the projects can be found here.
