Rail Careers Week – recap
Organisations from around Australia have held various events and activities to highlight the diverse careers of Australia’s rail industry. The Rail Industry has a network of career opportunities for people of all ages and experiences
The Rail Careers website features up to date information including “Real Career stories” about the opportunities available to school leavers, career changers and anyone who is curious about the industry. Customer Service, Infrastructure and Operations all include roles aligned to the Transport and Logistics training package. Other featured areas include Asset Management, Corporate Specialists, Manufacturing and maintenance
The website is an initiative of the Australasian Rail Association.
Vikki Stewart Workforce Development Manager ARA at the launch of rail week said –
“Rail is a strong and diverse industry with a prosperous future, it employs more than 110,000 people in more than 180 organisations located all across Australia and New Zealand. The industry provides a wide range of employers comprising private and public operators, passenger operators, freight operators, track owners and managers, manufacturers and suppliers operating in urban, regional, and rural areas of Australia.”
