Regional Express showcases the role of training packages

Guaranteed employment as an airline pilot is just one of the reasons why Regional Express (Rex) is leading the way in Australian aviation training, says Jim Davis, independent director of Rex.

At the recent ‘Future of Work’ conference, a joint event hosted by the Industry Skills Councils and the Australian Workplace and Productivity Agency, Jim gave the audience an insight to Rex’s use of the Aviation Training Package and how it has been used to upskill their existing and cadet pilots.

By partnering with the Transport and Logistics Industry Skills Council (TLISC), Rex successfully obtained funding under the National Workforce Development Fund to further upskill 15 members of their team in the field of Flight Instruction.

With a dedicated training facility in Wagga Wagga, low interest student loans and guaranteed employment for cadets who successfully complete the program, Rex is well-known for developing some of the best pilots in the country.

Jim’s presentation can be accessed here together with a video about their flying school.
