Rail Training Package Update

Rail Update

The end of the year is fast approaching and as many Rail projects begin to wrap up for 2014, planning has already started for project in 2015. TLISC has scheduled five rail sector steering committee meetings for the first half of 2015. These meetings will continue the industry consultation and validation of Training Package components as part of the transition to the Standards for Training Packages which must be completed by 31 December 2015.

All Training Packages are required to comply with New Standards for Training Packages which were endorsed by the Standing Council on Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment (SCOTESE) on 16 November 2012.  These new standards change the format of Training Packages to better meet the needs of the various groups who use them.

The 2015 Rail steering committees are scheduled as follows:

19 Feb 2015 Train Driver Steering Committee
4 March 2015 Rail Control Steering Committee
17 March 2015 Rail Operations Steering Committee
16 April 2015 Rail Infrastructure Steering Committee
7 May 2015 Track Protection Steering Committee
