Smart and Skilled – trainee subsidies for NSW students

The Transport and Logistics Industry stands to gain a wealth of upskilled workers thanks to the NSW Government investing in Smart and Skilled, a reform of the NSW Vocational Education and Training (VET) system.

Qualifications developed by TLISC feature heavily on list of courses subsidised under Smart and Skilled as detailed in the 2015 NSW Skills List. This list identifies courses that help people get the skills they need to find a job and also aligns with the skills needs of businesses in NSW.

From 1 January 2015, Smart and Skilled provides eligible students with:

  • an entitlement to government-subsidised training up to and including Certificate III
  • government funding for higher-level courses (Certificate IV and above) in targeted priority areas.

If you’re a prospective student, this website tells you everything you need to know about Smart and Skilled before you enrol with your preferred training provider.
