Organisation: Subject: Shunter qualification core unit
There is a core unit in the new TLI2213 Shunter qualification that is not necessarily a core task performed by all rail companies. WA do not Clip points. Yes, it can be trained and assessed as it is a simple unit but for a large company to train and assess just for the sake of it is very expensive. Can we please have the Shunter core units reviewed and TLIW2041A Clip points and apply rail safety equipment removed as a core unit.
The Rail Steering Committee met in Melbourne 22 May 2014 and resolved that this unit of competency, TLIW2041 in the Certificate II in Shunting, packaging rules will be changed from core to elective unit and will be transitioned to the new TLI Transport & Logistics Training Package. Further information on the Standards for Training Packages implementation can be found under ‘New Standards Implementation’ in “Quick Links.
