MARINE COOKERY

TLISC has aligned the current Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Marine Cookery) to the Standards for Training Packages. The qualification is comprised of ten units of competency imported from the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package and four units from the MAR Maritime Training Package.

Project Overview

The alignment of the Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Marine Cookery) involved verification that all units listed in the qualification are the most current. This resulted in all imported units of competency being replaced with the most current and equivalent unit of competency.

Project Update

5 January 2015
The four MAR units in the qualification are also included in the Certificate of Safety Training. However, to obtain the Certificate of Safety Training, elementary first aid is also required, which is covered by HTAID003 Provide first aid. To fully address this requirement, the proposed Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Marine Cookery) now includes HTAID003. With HLTAID003 included all the requirements of the Certificate of Safety Training are addressed.
