What is your role with TLISC?
General Manager – Business Services
When did you join the transport and logistics industry and what have you done?
Joined the Industry directly in 1987 after working in the Building Industry in a range of roles including Logistics and Supply Chain, worked with Ansett in Sales & Operational Roles, moved to Sydney as National Sales & Marketing Manager and lead the commercial arm of the Transition team following the sale of Ansett Air Freight to TNT. As General Manager of Sales Systems managed the implementation of new technology to enable the Sales Process. As General Manager of Sales for TNT I managed the National Sales Team of over 200. General Manager Asia/Pacific of Duncan Solutions a Parking & Enforcement specialist business I had responsibility for product development, engineering, manufacturing, logistics and a large service organisation in Australia. Senior Vice President of Chicago on Street Alliance (COSA) a joint venture between Macquarie Bank and Duncan Solutions established the operational business for the largest privatised on street parking operation at that time in the world.
How did you become part of the VET industry?
Tell us about your work-life before TLISC.
I have worked in a range of Management roles, in the Building Industry and Transport and Logistics which has given me the opportunity to work extensively in Australia, Malaysia and the United States, I have combined this with a rewarding sporting career and have also had the opportunity to work sports administration.
What training and education have you undertaken?
A range of work place training with Ansett, TNT & the AFL
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
“It doesn’t matter what happens to you it is what you do about it”
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing the business and personal improvements that come from projects that TLISC are involved in.
How do you spend your time away from work?
With family and a keen watcher of sport.
