What is your role with TLISC?
Policy Support Officer

When did you join the transport and logistics industry and what have you done?
I joined TLISC in May 2015. I am acquainting myself with transport, logistic and vocational education and training related ACRONYMS (TLVETRA);
The language of vocational education and training (VET) is complex and particularly prone to jargon and acronyms. VET glossary www.ncver.edu.au/resources/glossary.htm

How did you become part of the VET industry?
I have done short courses in ukulele, upholstery and MYOB for beginners at TAFE. Unfortunately none of these progressed to a career through no fault of either TAFE or the instructors.

Tell us about your work-life before TLISC.
Most recently I worked as the art assistant in a secondary school. Before that I worked as the administrator for an arts organisation. I have taught art in secondary and primary school. I have a husband, four children and a granddaughter.

What training and education have you undertaken?
Apart from TAFE courses I have a Bachelor of Art (Visual) and a Diploma of Education.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Tell the truth.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Having the opportunity to learn about a world I hardly knew existed.

How do you spend your time away from work?
I run 6km very slowly most days. I like to eat and beach fish and really love climbing hills.

Cake or ice cream OR mountains or ocean?
All of the above.
