Transport & Logistics Industry Skills Council › Stevedoring & Mobile Cranes

TLISC has conducted the alignment of the current Stevedoring qualifications, which included a full review of the Certificate IV in Stevedoring Operations to the Standards for Training Packages.

Project Overview
The specific focus of the project is the review of all Stevedoring qualifications to provide coverage of yard, terminal and automation tasks and areas of the industry. The project will specifically address:
  1. The alignment of the following qualifications and all relevant stevedoring units of competency and skill sets to the Standards for Training Packages:
  2. TLI21413 Certificate II in Stevedoring
  3. TLI33513 Certificate III in Stevedoring
  4. The review and alignment of the TLI41710 Certificate IV in Stevedoring Operations qualification to the Standards for Training Packages.
  5. Scoping the need for Stevedoring units to be added to the Diploma of Logistics for operational managers.
Project Update
20th November 2015

Transport & Logistics Training Package Release 2.0 was submitted to the Dept. Education and Training on 20th November 2015. This Release contains 2 Stevedoring and 2 Mobile Cranes qualifications, 11 Skill Sets and 9 units of competency.

Transport & Logistics Training Package Release 2.0 draft training package components are now available for viewing, prior to being submitted to the Dept. Education and Training for endorsement. This Release contains 2 Stevedoring and 2 Mobile Cranes qualifications, 11 Skill Sets and 9 units of competency.

The TLI Transport & Logistics Training Package Release 1.0 was endorsed on 12 October 2015.This Release includes 1 Stevedoring qualification and 5 units of competency:

    • TLI41715 Certificate IV in Stevedoring Operations

NB: Transitioned Stevedoring and Mobile Crane qualifications containing High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) units will be included in TLI Release 2.

NB: Transition of Stevedoring qualifications containing High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) units were not finalised for TLI Release 1.0. These qualifications will be included in TLI Release 2.

Transport & Logistics Training Package Release 1.0 – Draft Components are now available for viewing prior to being submitted to the Dept. Education and Training for endorsement. NB: Transition of Warehousing Operations and Logistics qualifications containing High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) units were not finalised for Release 1.0. These qualifications will be included in Release Two.

May 2015
The alignment of the following 2 mobile cranes qualifications to the new Training Package standards is commencing this month. The qualifications include:

  • TLI31710 Certificate III in Mobile Crane Operations
  • TLI41910 Certificate IV in Mobile Crane Operations

The draft Stevedoring qualifications and units of competency have been aligned to the Standards for Training Packages and are now available for comment, please click here.The major change to the units of competency is the removal of information that is not mandatory from the Range of Conditions. This information will be included in the Transport and Logistics Training Package – Companion Volume Implementation Guide, which will be available on the TLISC website once the qualifications have been endorsed.

Comments can be made directly in the units of competency or qualifications using Track Changes, or can be send via email to: eddie.hardman@tlisc.org.au by no later than 13 November 2014. (Links removed 17 November 2014).
