TRAINING PACKAGES

The Transport and Logistics Industry Skills Council undertakes high quality development and continuous improvement of training products and value-add services to support excellence in training and assessment across the tertiary sector.

A Training Package is a set of nationally endorsed standards used to recognise and assess the skills and knowledge people need to perform effectively in the workplace. Training Packages provide a framework of qualifications to align these standards to occupations.

The Skills Council is responsible for the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of national Training Packages covering occupations across the breadth of the following sectors:

About Training Packages

Training Packages form the endorsed component of the National training arrangements. The endorsed materials include units of competency, qualifications and Skill Sets, and are a key resource for registered training organisations (RTOs) in the delivery of structured, accredited training.


Transport & Logistics Environmental Scan

New Standards Implementation

New Standards for Training Packages were endorsed by
the Standing Council on Tertiary Education, Skills and
Employment (SCOTESE) on 16 November 2012.
By 31 December 2015, all Training Packages are
required to align to the New Standards.

Continuous Improvement

The Skills Council is committed to a process of continuous improvement to ensure that Training Packages meet the existing and emerging skill needs of industry. The Continuous Improvement Plans provide an outline of the planned changes for each Training Package.

Stakeholders

Stakeholders play an active role in ensuring that the content of the Training Packages are aligned to existing and emerging skills needs of industry.

Membership of stakeholder committee and groups is open to representatives from business, industry organisations, unions and regulatory bodies.
