National Workforce Development
The Skills Council brokers whole of business solutions to support enterprises to develop a skilled workforce and promote productivity improvements through up-skilling and training.
This includes increasing capability and awareness of industry bodies and intermediaries on workforce planning, skills development and utilisation strategies to drive widespread improvement of practice and productivity. Development of case studies that provide an evidence base for the value of skills at the individual, enterprise, sector, and industry level supports the Skills Council’s key role in promoting Industry investment in skills and workforce development.
After receiving such a positive response to NWDF: The Stories, TLISC has responded to our stakeholders’ continuing thirst for stories about workforce development in action.
Skilling Transport provides case studies from large and small businesses, across the spectrum of broad, holistic approaches through to highly specialised, smaller scale initiatives.

National Workforce Development Fund
The coordination of the NWDF is now under the administration of the Australian Workforce and Productivity Agency (AWPA) and TLISC is looking for applications to support this program. Enterprises and associations are encouraged to identify their current, future business and workforce development needs to determine whether they can be supported for funding. The funds support the completion of full qualifications or Skill Sets for existing and new workers in priority areas of need. Click here to find out more.

NWDF: The Stories tells real-life accounts of how the National Workforce Development Fund is benefiting Australian transport and logistics enterprises.
Our industry, worth an estimated $122 billion, or almost 10 per cent of Australia’s GDP in 2012, is diverse in sector and geography, with about 165,000 enterprises across rail, roads, maritime, aviation, ports, logistics and warehousing in every state and territory. Click here to find out more.
